Laser Components GmbH is now offering antireflection (AR) coatings for its optical fibers for use when high power has to be transmitted across optical fibers using a laser. These coatings significantly reduce coupling losses. Applications include medical technology and materials processing.

The company offers both assembled cables, including coated fibers, and job coatings on fibers supplied by the customer. It can process all types of fibers, from single- and multimode fused silica to sapphire. All materials used, for example, in buffers, are suitable for vacuum environments.

The following AR coatings are available on a standard basis for optical fibers: single AR coatings for one wavelength (e.g., 808 nm); dual ARs for two wavelengths (e.g., 808 and 980 nm); and broadband ARs for a wide wavelength range (e.g., 460 to 700 nm).

Customer-specific coatings also are available at any time.
